(the Geospatial Information & Technology Association), also works closely with us co-   sponsoring local events and workshops. GITA is a nonprofit educational association serving the global geospatial community.

The American Congress on Surveying and Mapping

(ACSM), was founded in June 1941 and is incorporated as a non-profit organization whose goal is to advance the sciences of surveying and mapping, and related fields, in furtherance of the welfare of those who use and make maps. ACSM also encourages the development of educational programs and supports publications that represent the professional and technical interests of surveying and mapping.

The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing

(ASPRS), founded in 1934, is a scientific association serving over 7,000 professional members around the world. Their mission is to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and supporting technologies.

Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado

The purpose of this organization shall be to design, create, expand, operate, maintain and/or provide professional oversight of a network of continuously operating reference stations to provide rapid, reliable, real time geodetic control data and positioning corrections to a variety of field surveying, mapping, navigation, emergency response and geospatial services in the state of Colorado.

GIS Colorado
GIS Colorado has been established to represent and foster GIS activities throughout Colorado. Their mission is to further the sharing of data and exchange of ideas. GIS Colorado has a listserv that reaches most GIS professionals in the state, aa few outside of it. This is a great resource well worth the sign-up.
